Does anyone know what the different colors in the sleep record "bar graphs" actually represent?

Hi dunc3862,

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. We'd be happy to provide some information on using Sleep on your iPhone. If you are using the Health app, you should see a bar graph with one color representing the average time in bed and the other representing the average time asleep. You can see which is which within the app, right under the Week vs Month tab. Check out the section titled " View your sleep history" in this article: Track your sleep on Apple Watch and use Sleep on iPhone.

Hope that helps!
