SuperDuper Clone vs Disk Utility Image, what's the difference?
Hello,
I used both before, but now am wondering, where is actually the difference...?
...when I want an exact copy of my internal MacintoshHD to an external HDD to later copy it back from the external to the internal (or a new drive).
SuperDuper offers creating an Image as well as a bootable "file-by-file" clone. Disk Utility offers different types of Images.
As far as I remember from the last use, I was able to restore from both the Disk Utility Image as well as the SuperDuper file-by-file clone.
But what is actually the difference or advantage? Sorry for asking so blunt.
PS: my memory dates back from the use of 10.4 and 10.5 on a PowerPC Macs and y MAc Mini running 10.9 - Sorry, if capabilities of Disk Utility under High Sierra have changed.
Thank you!
