No Email Address *Block* Option On MacBook Pro

I noticed that this has been asked previously, but none of the answers helped me. I want to block a sender in MaiI. I do not have the Block option anywhere to be found. The triangle next to the name does not have this option. Preferences Junk Mail does not have this option. Using mail 12.4 on my MacBook Pro.

Hi Fiddlegal55,

Thanks for posting your question in Apple Support Communities! We understand you're not seeing the option 'Block Contact' in Mail on Mac. We're happy to help.

It sounds like you're using macOS Mojave 10.14, is that correct? You should see the option to Block Contact, the same as you would based on these directions: Block senders in Mail on Mac.

What type of email account are you using? If you have more than one email account set up in Mail, does this happen with all the accounts, or just one? Is this happening with any and all Sender addresses, or just certain ones?

When you do open Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, are you saying you do not see 'Enable blocked mail filtering' there, or you can't click the '+' to add a Sender address there?

Your responses will help us isolate this further to determine next best steps to assist.

Best Wishes.

Hi Fiddlegal55,

Thanks for following up with that additional information. The next appropriate step to try would be to attempt booting the Mac into safe mode and see if it allows you to block from there. You can find steps on how to boot into safe mode by following this article: How to use safe mode on your Mac.

If you are unable to block in safe mode then it may be best to reach out to Apple directly in order to receive some additional troubleshooting steps. You can contact them by following this link: Contact Apple Support.

Cheers.

Thanks for responding.

Yes on macOS Mojave 10.14, Mail Version 12.4.. As the picture shows in my initial question, there is no option to Block in the pull down menu from the arrow on any sender. This is my only email account. No option in Junk Mail "Enable blocked mail filtering. Here is the junk mail screen shot. No + sign to add an email to block:
