My old iPhone that I want to sell says disabled cause I can’t remember my old password I have att there’s no sim in it and I was going to sell it to my friend it’s paid for

I tryed that it just shows it plugged in to iTunes not recovery and it’s just doing nothing which I know it’s been wiped cause I did that last year I just need to give it to my friend and try to unlock it , it’s been plugged in to computer for 30min, I called ATT they said to go drive a hour and half to the city to visit a Apple store and wait 2 hours! By the time I do all that the money I sold the phone for won’t be worth it!
