We understand you would like to know how change when your iPhone automatically locks.

You can go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock, then set a length of time on an iPhone using iOS 12. Check out the "Change when iPhone automatically locks" section in how to Set a passcode on iPhone.
