Pink tint to edge of 27inch late 2015 iMac

My late 2015 27inch iMac has developed a pink tint around the screen edges. It seems to get worse the longer the machine is left on. It was just completely wiped & reloaded with 11.4 so I don't believe it's a software issue.

This seems to be a very common problem going by the number of reports. Even machines for sale on eBay show this phenomena.

Is this a case of the second hand car dealers "they're all like that sir" or is it a genuine fault that Apple needs to pick up? I paid a lot of money for this pc & expected it to last more than 5 years

iMacs with Apple care are warranted for three years. One year without Apple care. Your iMac is already 6 years old and its longevity depends entirely on how one uses it.

I also have a 2015 iMac and works perfectly, except for the occasional monitor-burn-in depending on how I'm using it. Components degrade over time. My 2009 iMac gave up in 2018 and it while it was running fine, the LCD panel gave up.

The displays are easy to replace if you have the technical skills to do it. Otherwise, see if you can have a 3rd-party Apple repair facility replace the screen for you. There are options. May try blowing some compressed air into the intake vents to blow any dust/lint from inside your iMac.

If you have your LCD monitor on everyday for years, it will last less than a monitor that is on for half that time. The environment your iMac is in can contribute, particularly if it's a very dusty environment. Lots of variables.

Thanks for your comments, to add further info to them:

1) the pc was a bought in late 2016 so is just coming up for 5 years old

2) it has only been used in a dust free domestic environment, it is never used for more than a couple of hours a day & for the rest of the time is on sleep. It was bought primarily for editing photography.

3) virtually every late 2015 iMac I have seen for sale seems to suffer from this problem, some on eBay even state "pink edges to screen"

4) other pc's that I have used for work have had a much more arduous life than this without suffering display problems

5) I have been a big Apple fan for years, but I'm afraid my confidence in their quality is waning. I also have an Apple watch which is now faulty

Again thanks for your help
