That is correct and normal behaviour for any 2015-2017 iPad Pro model with a Lightning connector port.

Your iPad is acting as it should.

These older iPad Pro models ONLY automatic respond to Siri commands when plugged into power.


Any time your iPad IS NOT plugged into external power, you must always activate Siri voice commands manually.


Your 1st gen iPad Pro is fine.
