Siri is not working unless I am connected to some sort of Bluetooth device

My hey Siri, it’s not working unless I am connected to some sort of Bluetooth device. When I am on my phone like normal it will not work. I’ve reset it several times. I’m on an iPhone 11 Pro Max and iOS 15. It stopped working before that update. Any ideas?

Hi choro160,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Might be good to check some settings are ok.

Wondering if your iPhone may be in:

"Low power" mode,

or "Airplane" mode ?

If you use "screen-time", could there be "privacy restrictions" turned on there

(Is Siri tuned on (green) in "Allowed Apps"?

Are you using Hey Siri on other devices also ?

(The device that responds is the one that heard you best or was recently raised or used.)

How 'Hey Siri' works with multiple devices

If nothing here helps,

it might be best to contact Apple.

Thank you! I am not using low power mode or airplane mode. I double checked screen time and my privacy restrictions. I do use it on multiple devices. I never have an issue with “hey Siri” on my laptop. My Apple Watch will also pick up my voice while I have my AirPods in. But if I do not have my AirPods in or if I’m not connected to any Bluetooth device (excluding my watch) “hey Siri” will not work.

I will try the “Get Support” option.

I appreciate your time.
