My watch won’t pair with my phone - stuck in loop checking for update - won’t reset to factory even if I select that option

We understand you are unable to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone. We also understand you've tried resetting your Apple Watch, but this doesn't work as it appears your Apple Watch is stuck checking for an update. You did a great job following the steps on what to do If you can't find the 'i' icon on your Apple Watch.

Let's start by making sure your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If you're not using iOS version 14.6, please be sure to create a current backup prior to updating. These links can help:

If your iPhone is already using the latest version of iOS, please Restart your iPhone and Apple Watch. If needed, please see How to restart your Apple Watch.

Once you've restarted both devices, please try to Set up your Apple Watch again.
