Please if you are from Apple don’t waste our time telling us how to switch on wifi assist.
It’s on and download dies when the wifi signal fades, it never switches to cellular, one must manually turn off wifi to make it switch cellular and download a page.
Please fix Wifi Assist or remove it.

You can also use the Get Support link at the top of this page and discuss it with an Apple technician. As Wi-Fi assist works perfectly on my 4 iOS devices most likely it is a problem with your phone specifically.
You can also use the Wi-Fi button on the Control Center to disconnect from the current Wi-Fi network without having to turn off Wi-Fi.
I never implied was participating as such in this forum. Now as a users’ forum, it may be that other users have a similar problem and can indeed help with my perceived problem. You can be sure I have already done what you say.

Well, I haven’t had this problem with Wi-Fi assist. So there’s one data point.
