Remote app not working since upgrading to macOS v.11.4

Remote app not working. When I tap on a library, it just spins. Reset the phone and the router with no improvement. Thoughts?

Hmmm, as far as I know, there is no Remote music app for the Mac. My post is about the Remote app on my iPhone which I use to control the Music app running on my Mac.


I tried to delete and re-install the Remote app (which hasn't been updated in a year) on my phone to see it if might resolve the issue. I've still got the same problem.


Any other suggestions?

the iOS 14.6 update has messed up remote app to control my Apple TV’s. I have three atv gen 4s. I’ve unpaired and repaired all of the atvs. One works again but not longer controls volume. The other two atvs do not connect and the remote app crashes when trying to connect to them. I’ve had to resort to using the physical Apple TV remote which is like traveling back in time. I hope Apple fixes this issue. Very inconvenient. It worked so well for so many years.

Same issue here. Since mac OS update to Big Sur 11.4 the Remote App on my iPad and iPhone no longer connect to the Max Music library. Even reconnecting to "Music" on my macmini did not help. Music shows the iPhone/iPad on teh sidebar, after entering the 4-digit number the "beach ball" keeps spinning forever.

The iPhone and iPad seem to be ok, as they flawlessly connect to Music on my other Mac still running on Bug Sur 11.3.
