Remote app not working. When I tap on a library, it just spins. Reset the phone and the router with no improvement. Thoughts?

I think I may have fixed mine. Went to Home Sharing on my iMac - everything was greyed out.
Clicked on share library, signed into iCloud again and restarted iMac. Started up iTunes remote and this time it connects OK.
Hopefully this will stay fixed!
Connecting from iTunes Remote using Home Sharing, rather than pairing with the passcode, worked for me.
Thx! Connecting with Home Sharing did work also for me. Strange that passcode isn't working after the update to Big Sur 11.4.

Sorry to hear Apple Support was unhelpful - ultimately that was my experience too. Have you tried to connect using 'Home Sharing'? That fixed this for us.
Hmmm, as far as I know, there is no Remote music app for the Mac. My post is about the Remote app on my iPhone which I use to control the Music app running on my Mac.
I tried to delete and re-install the Remote app (which hasn't been updated in a year) on my phone to see it if might resolve the issue. I've still got the same problem.
Any other suggestions?
I have the same problem: after the latest MacOS 11.4 update (or a recent iOS update, I can't tell), the iTunes Remote App cannot connect to the Apple Music App Library anymore. I verified this behaviour on 3 different Mac's with different iOS devices (iPad, iPhone). It was definitively working until a few days ago.
the iOS 14.6 update has messed up remote app to control my Apple TV’s. I have three atv gen 4s. I’ve unpaired and repaired all of the atvs. One works again but not longer controls volume. The other two atvs do not connect and the remote app crashes when trying to connect to them. I’ve had to resort to using the physical Apple TV remote which is like traveling back in time. I hope Apple fixes this issue. Very inconvenient. It worked so well for so many years.
Update just fixed it, able to connect direct with home sharing off now, as before.
I'm happy and somewhat surprised to report that it all magically began working again. Don't know why it would have changed without any further intervention but there you go...and, yes, I had re-booted the Mac.
Same issue here. Reboot, restarts, delete app, forget remotes, reconnect via code, reset wifi, etc, etc. still just stuck on connecting to my music library. Has worked previously to update, use it almost every day. Apple support was not helpful at all.
Same issue here. Since mac OS update to Big Sur 11.4 the Remote App on my iPad and iPhone no longer connect to the Max Music library. Even reconnecting to "Music" on my macmini did not help. Music shows the iPhone/iPad on teh sidebar, after entering the 4-digit number the "beach ball" keeps spinning forever.
The iPhone and iPad seem to be ok, as they flawlessly connect to Music on my other Mac still running on Bug Sur 11.3.
Same issue here. Big Sur 11.4 update and Remote app no longer connecting from iPhone or iPad - after entering the passcode hung up on "Connecting to ... Library".
Interestingly, Music>Preference>Advanced shows Music thinks it is paired with both the mobile devices, but they can't finish connecting

Yes, I am having the same issue that drschwartz is having. I believe there was an update to the music app on Mac Big Sur, ver. 11.4.
