Phone auto-adjusting brightness with auto-brightness off
I have always had this problem on my iphone XS since I got it a couple years ago. Often times, when my brightness is all the way up, my phone will “auto-adjust” the brightness level, *without* actually adjusting the brightness controller. It’s a bit hard to explain, but essentially the brightness will auto go down randomly, while the brightness meter/controller will still say it is at full brightness. However, when I take the meter between halfway to all the way brightness, there is *no* change at all in the brightness, and it will not allow me to make my screen brighter than halfway. Once I move the brightness meter down beyond halfway, it will begin to lower the brightness, however it will only increase the brightness to halfway, and then I can continue to move the brightness controller up but my screen will not brighten anymore. Then, within a couple hours, the phone will “re-brighten” and allow me to properly utilize the brightness controls and take the brightness all the way up. My auto brightness is turned off, I have restarted/reset my iPhone, and done many other fixes but nothing works. When it happens, I basically have to deal with a darker screen because it will not allow me to make the screen brighter beyond halfway bright. It’s weird because it’s not adjusting the brightness how auto-brightness does (which lowers the brightness and also lowers the brightness control/meter thing), it lowers the brightness without doing that and basically makes the top half of the brightness control slider “unavailable” per say. If anyone has any insight, I would be very happy to hear. Thank you!
