Forcing videos on my iPhone to be downloaded for importing

Hey there,

I recorded a bunch of videos on a walk, and when trying to import them into FCPX, it's proving quite a challenge!

Photos option doesn't work because it misses most of my videos...

Airdrop appears to time out or cancel whilst preparing / downloading the videos..

Connect via USB seems most reliable, but again some videos seem to go missing.

I think I have a work around by watching the video on my phone, since that appears to trigger a download. Then I connect my phone and try to import it via USB. It's error prone and I have 70 odd videos to process like this.

I don't think this is a FCPX problem per-se, but perhaps the community knows something I don't about importing videos from the iPhone.

The problem is associated with having your photo library in icloud.

FCP can only access stuff that is stored in your iPhone.

You did well in connecting via usb.

You may try using Image Capture to get the videos from your iPhone to your mac, but I don't know if it will be able to access the videos that are not physically on the iPhone.

Perusing this support document gives a different idea...

You can log in to icloud.com on the browser in your mac, and download the desired videos to your mac directly from icloud.
