I am having trouble getting vids filmed in cinematic mode transferred off my iPhone 13 onto my computer.

Is it because I am not using a apple cable?

If I upload the videos to dropbox or youtube the cinematic mode goes away leaving a regular video recording.

Will it work correctly if I upload to iCloud?

Any ideas how to make it possible to get the videos which I filmed in cinematic mode off my iPhone 13 without using iCloud?

let_us_chat,

If Cinematic mode videos from your iPhone don’t appear when importing to your Mac or Windows computer

  1. If your iPhone is connected to your Mac or Windows computer, disconnect it. Then open Photos on your iPhone.
  2. From Photos choose the Albums tab and select the Cinematic album. Do you see an option for ‘Process Now’ at the bottom of the album? If so, go ahead and tap that, then allow the videos to process. Once it’s complete try to import them to your computer again via the physical connection.

Also, if we’re working with a Mac, have you tried using AirDrop to move the videos? This article is from the Motion User Guide, but has some good information about the different files you can expect to see when using Cinematic mode.  Move Cinematic mode clips to your Mac before importing them into Motion - Apple Support

As for transferring Cinematic mode via third-party apps/services such as Dropbox or YouTube, we’re going to recommend you connect with the support for that app to determine if they support the file types.

Thanks.

Hi let_us_chat,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that when you transfer your videos recorded in Cinematic mode on your iPhone don't retain the Cinematic settings on other devices.

If your videos haven't finished processing, they won't be available when you import them to another device as outlined here: If Cinematic mode videos from your iPhone don’t appear when importing to your Mac or Windows computer

You may consider using iCloud Photos to access Cinematic videos on different devices to ensure they retain their settings.

You can also contact the app developer directly to ensure their app supports videos recorded in Cinematic mode: How to contact an app developer

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thank you for your response. I may not have explained my situation correctly. Let me try again.

I have a iPhone 13.

When I film in cinematic mode the recording will not transfer onto my laptop, nothing shows up.

However, when I film in non cinematic mode the recordings do transfer onto my laptop.

What might be the problem?

Could it be due to the fact that I am NOT using a Apple cable when I try to transfer from iPhone 13 to laptop?

Last time I waited one hour after recording in cinematic mode before I tried to transfer the recording onto my laptop. How long dose processing take? How do I know when the transferring is done? I was not aware their was a processing delay.

When I film in Cinematic mode I am able to transfer the recordings to Dropbox or YouTube but the Cinematic effect is lost. How can I fix that?

Thank you

Daniel B.

“an option for ‘Process Now’ at the bottom of the album” seems to only appear right after taking the video. I tested this today. It was not visible so presumably all the other vids already processed.

I don’t use iCloud.

It Is not a cord issue. I got an Apple cord to transfer phone content to my Windows laptop and it still did not work?

Thank you.
