Mouse Highlight Overlay

Can't seem to get rid of Mouse Highlight Overlay. I've restarted my computer several times and I've clicked on the overlay but nothing appears. Can't move it or trash it.

Hi s1023c,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

You are seeing a blue glow around the cursor on your MacBook Pro, is that correct? We'd like to help. If you have Night Shift enabled on your Mac, go ahead and switch it off and then switch it back on. Let us know if this step helps. You can use these steps: How to use Night Shift on your Mac

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you can reset the SMC. Here’s How to reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

If the issue persists, let’s reset the NVRAM. Here’s how to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

If neither reset helps, does the issue happen in another user? If the issue happens in another user account, test in safe mode.  Here’s how to How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Here are a few quick notes about safe mode:

- Safe mode often looks and responds a bit different than what you're used to.

- Safe mode does not load everything that normally loads during a regular startup.

- Safe mode is a bit slower while loading and during normal operation as well.

- These differences can be cleared-up by a normal restart.

Test to see the issue happens in safe mode. Restart and test again in typical mode. Just booting into safe mode in and of itself can resolve some issues.

Reach out with any questions.

Best Regards!
