Current System is OS X Version 10.9.5

I have an old Macbook Pro (2014) and I need to upgrade system updates but it just lists 5 incompatible updates so not sure what to do? Can anyone advise as I am not getting the verification code box which is stopping me from logging into my apple accounts (emails, itunes etc)

2014 Macs should first be updated to 10.14, following these directions. Further upgrades you should only consider if you have 64 bit compatibility in all your software, drivers, and your Mac is compatible.

The verification code will not come because you need a minimum of 10.12.4 for multi factor authentication.
