SHUT OFF APPLE NEWS AUDIO PLAYER. PLZ!!!!!!

HOW DO I SHUT THE APPLE NEWS AUDIO PLAYER OFF AND NEVER EVER HEAR IT AGAIN?!?! Asking for a friend, myself, and apparently a lot of other people who have the same problem. How do I shut it off?! I get in my car or truck, click Bluetooth player on the radio, and then my kids get to hear the worst crap in the media. NOT MUSIC. I have NEVER subscribed to apple news+ or allowed/used an audio player in my life. But that’s ok, as long as my 9 year old now knows that some nutter murdered 6 people in a Walmart, in a state we’ve never seen, been to, or heard of. I can’t get that 12 seconds of my children’s life back. Or every other time it’s happened with the garbage in the media. If I never heard another news article until I died, I would say thank you. SHUT THIS OFF!!!!!

Hi there  MtKampin!

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are experiencing the audio on your iPhone autoplaying when your device pairs with the Bluetooth in your car. We have some tips that may help you remedy this issue.

To start, you can use these steps to customize your settings for driving. Look here under "Customize your settings for driving": Play music, podcasts, audiobooks, and news in your car

Since you aren't subscribed to Apple News+ you may be hearing a short preview of the story. For steps nohow to control the audio playback, look here: Listen to the news in the Apple News app

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
