Low speaker volume on MacBook Pro

So my speakers were working fine the other day. Checked all my settings and they are all turned all the way up. If I use my AirPods they work fine and the volume is all the way up. The speakers on my MacBook Pro however with all the settings all the way up it sounds like its turned to quarter volume. Is there any way to diagnose or fix this without taking my computer in to apple because I use it everyday for work?

Hey there, JoeSemaan1.

We understand that the volume sounds lower than it should when you use the internal speakers of your MacBook Pro, versus using an external accessory like AirPods. To confirm, does this happen in multiple apps or a specific on?

To isolate this further, you can see if this happens in a new user: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac This can show if the issue happens in all users on your MacBook Pro or your specific user. You can also start in safe mode and test to see if this happens in safe mode and out of safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac Safe mode is another way to isolate this issue as certain software doesn't load in safe mode and a check is ran on the disk.

Take care!
