Connect a MacBook to WiFi by Scanning a QR Code

I am able to use my iPhone and camera to scan a QR code (which contains WiFi network information) and easily connect to a WiFi network without needing to enter an SSID, username/password. However, I cannot do the same with MacOS. Is it possible, perhaps with the addition of a QR scanning app?
