Find my iPhone gps accuracy

SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS!

Recently, the “find my iPhone” gps tracking showed my location in a different location (about 1/4 mile directly north) of my actual location. How is this??? Isn’t it supposed to be accurate? What (if anything) would cause it to show up in the wrong location?
