How do I recover deleted notes or missing notes
If you’re not using upgraded notes, then you unfortunately cannot recover deleted notes from iCloud.com. However, if you have been making iCloud backups that include your notes, you might be able to restore your phone from an iCloud backup and get the note back.

Open the notes app on your device. If you see a checkmark button and a formatting button (Aa) then you are using upgraded notes :)
You only need to read the "Recover recently deleted notes" section of the support article.

how do I know if I have updated notes or not?
so it appears that i do NOT have upgraded notes. my phone is an iphone 6 plus. i still need to try to recover a note that was deleted in error. any other suggestions?
