software update is no where to be found on my macbook

can someone help me because it hasn't been updated and is running on OS X 10.10

MacBook Air 13″, OS X 10.10

On OSX 10.10 software update would be in the Apple Menu if there is an update to install available. Otherwise it will not be visible.


If you need to upgrade to a newer macOS version, then you do that from the Mac App Store, not software update.


Depending on the model of MacBook Air you have, will be wether you can upgrade to the current macOS 11 Big Sur, or to some other earlier version.
