Bluetooth overheating phone since latest 14.6 update

Since the update a few days ago, if I turn bluetooth on and connect a device to my iPhone11 Pro, the phone rapidly starts heating, reaching a temp of 106F within minutes. If I disconnect the device, the phone cools back down. I've tried with multiple devices, and get the same thing. The phone gets uncomfortably hot very quickly since the last update. Is this a known issue, or do I need to brave a mall and visit a genius bar?

I did call Apple support, and they tried to figure it out, but no luck. What solved it for me was having the phone forget all bluetooth devices, and when I rediscovered them, the problem seemed to be solved. It hasn't gotten hot since then. I'll be honest, I'm not sure how that solved it, but it did. :)

Hi DDR42,

We see you have some concerns about your device warming up, and we'd be happy to provide some help.

This page here has some info on the topic, which may help out: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures

Are you getting the full screen alert as seen in the "If you see a temperature warning screen" section? That will appear if the device reaches a certain temperature threshold.

If that doesn't help, we'd advise reaching out Apple Support directly for further investigation. They can be reached via this link: Get Support

Cheers.
