Please I’ve been tracing my missing iPhone for sometime now,but it was offline each time I logged in the find my iPhone app on a friend’s phone.I logged in today only to see a pop up that said “No devices”,and I’m confused. Can anyone help me out please ?

My phone is missing and I want to know if the erase option will stop the person who has taken it from using it?
