Modern Authentication and Mail

My workplace just switched to authentication to access mail on its server. I was able to set up an iPhone and iPad no problem but can't get MacOS Mail to work. I'm running OS 11.4

I see mixed messages as to whether Mail on OS works with two factor or multi factor authentication. It's also strange to me that I got iOS devices set up with no issue.

Any suggestions will be appreciated and I'd also be interested in knowing whether OS12 improves Mail or tackles this issue.

Mail doesn't work after two-factor authentication Apple duped me into setting up two-factor authentication—I didn't know it was a permanent choice—and now my MacBook Pro (Mojave) won't retrieve or send mail. I can see and send mail via iCloud but that's not the same thing. Does anybody have a simple fix? Or any fix at all?

I have a yahoo att mail account that works on web login and on iphone mail, but the mail app on Macbook will not authenticate the password Hello all, I have a yahoo att mail account that works on web login and on iphone mail after changing the password, but now the mail app on Macbook Pro will not authenticate the password. There doesn't seem to be any way to change the password on the Macbook as far as I can see. I also can't remove the account and re-add, because the message box only gives me options to either remove account from all devices, or de-activate it. I'm not sure what to do now and would really appreciate someone's help. Thank you very much! Tod
