iPad 6th Gen apps crashing or freezing

Hi there, I have a iPad 6th Gen and the constant crashing is really getting to me!


I previously had a 3rd gen iPad and it was stable as they come, I’ve had this iPad a couple of year I guess and it always had apps freeze and crash, and this happen with each iOS update so I’m guessing it’s possibly a hardware issue?

I’ve tried deleting apps and reinstalling them, logging out and back in again, soft reset, back up, delete and restore.

Background refresh is off and I regularly shut down all apps so there’s not much load on the processor.

It seems for the searches I’ve done this isn’t that super uncommon?

What iPad year and model do you own?

What is the rated, internal data storage space/capacity of your iPad model and how much of this free, internal data storage capacity is left inside of your iPad model?

All of that additional info can be found in the Settings app, General settings panel, About.


I suspect you own a base model, low storage iPad that is running low on available internal data storage space.


Please attempt to answer all questions asked.

Yes.

I am afraid you may need to do a complete backup and factory reset/restore of your iPad.


If no joy,

You will need to contact Apple support via the contact support link located at the upper right hand corner of every Webpage of these Apple support communities.


Use the Hardware Performance and Connectivity categories.

by installing and using the Apple Support app found in the iOS App Store.

Thanks Mario, I’ve done the reset many times and it doesn’t seem to help much.

my iPad doesn’t lock up or become “unusable” as such, apps just close down and if playing a puzzle game the pieces won’t move fluidly.

I have 10Gb of free space on here so it shouldn’t be a capacity issue.

I’ve also deleted and reinstalled the affected apps to see if that helps but no luck their either.

Thanks Chris, its certainly not all apps just a select few, facebook being one of them but only when looking in marketplace which it really odd, other game apps don't crash and return to the home screen they just freeze up for 20-30 seconds then keeping going.


I have no issues on my iphone with the same apps just the ipad.


Its also been like it with ios 12, 13 and 14 but its certainly the worst its been with 14.6
