Why is my text turning white on a white search bar in Facebook only on Ipad?

This may be helpful to some people:

• I checked the text colour in the search box on Facebook and found the following results:
  • iPad Air (generation 1) through the Facebook App - White text on white background, text NOT visible.
  • iPad Air Facebook through Google browser - Black text on white background, text visible.
  • Desktop PC Facebook through Google browser - Black text on white background, text visible.
  • Desktop PC Facebook through Microsoft Edge browser - Black text on white background, text visible.

Today 10/07/21 I took the following action to resolve the problem:

• Logged out of Facebook and back into Facebook - This made no difference the text was still white on white.
• Re-booted iPad Air - This made no difference the text was still white on white.
• Again logged out of Facebook and back into Facebook - This made no difference the text was still white on white.
• Updated Facebook App through App Store to version 325.0 259MB - This made no difference the text was still white on white.
• Another update was available in the App Store ONLY after I had installed update 325.0, this new update version 326.0 258.5MB was available from 08/07/21.
• Updated Facebook App through App Store to version 326.0 258.5MB - This corrected the problem and the text has been restored back to black text on a blue background.

Bit long winded I know but I hope this experience helps some people.

Based on my reading and trial and error, it seems this is an issue with the Facebook App. When bypassing the app on the iPad the search box issue is not present. Interestingly, the App works fine on the iPhone without presenting the “white on white” problem that appears when using the iPad. Seems very odd

I have searched for a solution, and no one has reported a workaround.

It’s a Facebook bug/issue.

Report the problem via the Facebook app.

In the Facebook app, menu>Help & Support>Report a Problem

I too had issues. I updated the Facebook App and it seemed to work.

Reading through these answers, I randomly tried to update Facebook, and it now has a dark blue text bar with the white font, very legible!

That’s Facebook problem. I got same problem on my iPad. Facebook just released a new update today 07/02/2021. I updated my Facebook and the problem is fixed. The search bar now is back to dark blue with white text.

I would agree with this statement, if I access Facebook via the app I have “white on white” but if I use Facebook though Google the text in search is “black on white” text.

But you're using Facebook's app, you seem to not understand that point. Eliminate the facebook app off your ipad, and you have no issues with your ipad.

IF you were having any issue with the built in ios app, that came pre-installed with the ipad, then yes it would be an Apple issue.

Any 3rd party software you download from the appstore isn't an Apple app.

Why would Tim cook need contact Mark Z, it isn't his problem.

Use all this energy that you used to post of these forums, and use it on Facebook, let them know, keep letting them know, tag Mark Z on your FB post to get his attention....

It is Facebook priority to fix their app, not Apples.

They did update two days ago that fixed this

It made the background blue

Facebook search text is white

Same here, only via iPad app. When i login from Safari (again from iPad) letters are black as they should be.
