To find you Mac's serial number, click (Apple menu) > About This Mac.

You will find the number near the bottom of the info listed in the resulting window.

Alternatively, you can find the serial number printed on the bottom of the computer.

Using Terminal in Recovery Mode:

Boot up you Mac in Recovery Mode, and find it using Terminal

1. Boot: into Recovery Mode: [Hold Down: command + R] upon boot
2. Enter: password, if prompted
3. Select: Utilities menu (on top of screen)
4. Select: Terminal
5. Enter: this command

ioreg -l | grep IOPlatformSerialNumber
