How can I get 4K@60Hz on an external monitor using my M1 MacBook Pro?

Exactly as the title say. I have looked into this tirelessly and haven't found an answer. Even Apple's proprietary adapter doesn't work for whatever reason. Very frustrated with this issue.

Supposedly USB-C to DP doesn't work as it needs to support DP alt mode.

Not certain if USB-C to HDMI 2.0 will work at 60Hz

Would appreciate any and all help.

yes, but the cable looks like a snake that just had lunch because it has the adapter in it:

That was NOT reliable source, whatever it was.

--------

HDMI was invented for HD TV sets, and any use beyond that has a certain amount of 'black magic' to it.

DisplayPort runs at lower voltages and can be faster and better than any adaptation to HDMI.

Apple decided they have nothing special to add to DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort adapters, so they 'left it as an exercise for third-party suppliers' to produce DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort adapters.
