14.6 update stopped heart rate and fitness tracker

Has anyone had a problem since the update with their fitness tracker and heart rate. I use this every day. Any ideas?

I saw a couple of other posts with a similar issue… i didn’t put together that it may have been caused by the update to 14.6… I have a XR and a watch SE… The following was what I was recommended by support, maybe it will help you?

  • My fitness app wouldn’t load on the watch (just a black screen with only the time showing in the top right hand corner)
  • My rings data was not populating to the watch
  • HR app could not detect heart rate
  • battery would drain very fast (from 100 to 0 in about 5 hours)

Had a full chat with support and then at the apple genius bar the following day. Quick recap of all the steps that i was asked to do. It didn’t work for me but it might for you:

  • update both watch and phone to latest watchos and ios
  • restart watch and phone
  • hard reset on both watch and phone
  • unpair and repair your watch and restore from backup
  • do the same if there’s an apple tv involved as well for fitness +
  • unpair and repair your watch and set up as new
  • turn off background app refresh on watch
  • turn off remove unnecessary apps from phone and watch
  • sign out of phone and sign back into icloud

Unfortunately this did not fix it for me and i was informed that a few other people had the same issues. It was recommended that i wait for a fix to be pushed to my watch or a new update to be released and see if the problem persisted.

In the meantime my watch only lasts about 5 hours but i guess that’s why i have a portable charger.  Hope you can try some of this stuff and resolve your issues with your watch.
