Big Sur some users with Mobile accounts are unable to print to Ricoh Streamline NX

We use Mac in a primarily Windows environment. We use a managed network printing solution by Ricoh, StreamlineNX. Since upgrade to Big Sur, some mobile user accounts can no longer print. The device was added using "windows printer spoolerss". If I login with a local user and then attempt to print, I can use the credentials of the mobile user to connect to authenticate for access to the printer (queue) and the job prints correctly. Is there a local, intermediate queue or resource permission that could be preventing my mobile profile users from accessing the device? To add to the confusion, not all mobile profiles have the issue. Is it a network profile issue or a local Mac permission issue? Users with the problem have no trouble printing from a windows pc.

I spent a couple hours on the phone with Apple Friday before they told me it was a 3rd party issue and closed the case.

Here is some info on my last set of tests.

  • If user is connected to our guest network (separate network, no connection/route to trusted network) when they login/authenticate with their cached Mobile account password, they can go through the options to print to the network printer. the Mac captures the print job in a local print queue. The queue has a status of "Paused". Once the job is captured, I can change the wireless network to the trusted network and un-pause the print queue. If the mobile user has mac administrator permissions, the job will be released to the network printer and print successfully. If the user does not have local Mac administrator permission, any local administrator account can be used to release the job.
  • If you login/authenticate with local account (not a mobile account), you are prompted for a network account that has permission to print to the network printer when you try to print. The same account that fails if used as the mac mobile account at login works correctly when gaining access to the network print queue.

What version of Streamline NX are you using? We are on 2.4 and trying to get updated to 2.7.
