IPad iOS 14.6 mail problems

Since I updated to 14.6 I have had problems downloading mail. Is anyone else having this problem or is it my ATT internet provider?

Has you email provider (AT&T) switched to using App Specific Passwords? If so, you will need to generate a unique password for your iPad email account - that will differ from your normal Account Password. As examples - AOL, Yahoo and Google all use App Specific Passwords when using anything other than their own email client Apps.

If you need to generate an App Specific Password, you’ll need to log-in to your Mail Providers account management webpage - using a web browser - and generate the Password from the appropriate account security page.

More information about AOL’s App Specific Passwords can be found here:

For Yahoo, more information can be found here:

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, marlin48.

Have you been able to try to download emails while connected to another Wi-Fi source? That would help isolate if this is related to the iPad or your network connection. Also, does this behavior persist after doing a full restart on the iPad? If you haven't restarted the device yet, we'd recommend following the steps in the article below for that process.

Restart your iPad

Let us know if you notice the same difficulties downloading after testing on another network and restarting your device.

We look forward to hearing from you.

I have the same issue trying to fix an issue with My mother in laws iPhone remotely.

Also tested on my iPhones which is an iPhone 8 and on a different WiFi connection in a different state sing a different provider.

I found I could eventually connect to the account and receive emails however it wold not send.

Then when I configured the outbound server and got sending working it would not receive emails.

The autoconfiguration did not appear to be working correctly, and put in wrong inbound/outbound servers as well.

This is a BigPond account I am trying to configure btw
