When I download a 4GB video from my ICloud account it is downloaded in compressed format at a fraction of the original size. Am I losing video quality during the download process?

Usually when you download a video directly from iCloud it does appear in a much smaller file size which can result in slight loss in video quality, but this difference in quality is almost hardly noticeable when compared.
