CarPlay call volume too low to hear

I’m using CarPlay on my aftermarket radio and everything works fine volume wise except for calls. It worked fine with this radio prior to iOS 14 and I’ve had 2 different phones and both have the same issue. I’ve also updated the latest firmware on the radio. I even hear the volume drop when I place a call. I’d there a fix for this?
