WhatsApp for desktop used to show the emoji selection on the Touch Bar but now it only shows the recently used and I can't revert

Previously, the controls that appeared on my touch bar for WhatsApp for Desktop were create chat, search and the button that opens all the emojis from Apple on the touch bar itself, in that order. I only used emojis from here until recently when I used the on-screen emojis from the WhatsApp app itself, at which point the emoji I used appeared as its own button in between the search control and the Apple emoji selection. Since using more emojis from WhatsApp, the recently used emojis have filled up my Touch Bar and it no longer displays the button that opens all the emojis. Is there a way to bring it back? I would prefer that over the limited emojis that WhatsApp's recently used has to offer.

I have a 13" MacBook Pro M1 Running on Big Sur 11.2

This question is not urgent.

Hi! Thanks so much for replying! I finally contacted the app’s support and honestly, their service isn’t the best and I don’t think they understand my question but I’m trying to resolve it. Thank you very much for doing what you can!

I have had this exact same issue as well. Only the recent emoji are showing and I can’t select new ones or change the ones shown in the touch bar.

This only happens within the message box of the app and only within WhatsApp, so this is beyond the normal instructions given by @chuck_3rd above. For example, when I click into the search bar of WhatsApp, the generic emoji button reappears and I can slide across the touchbar to get any emoji I want. I also don’t have this problem in any other app.

So, this must be a WhatsApp’s specific app problem and they aren’t very responsive in general.
