Keyboard Flicks Flops!

(Running IOS 14.6) When I turn off the annoying keyboard flicks, which types letters and numbers in appropriately. I can no longer type an exclamation point! The exclamation point on keyboards is still on a double key with the keyboard flicks in either the on/off position. So it kind a looks like I am stuck with the annoying keyboard flicks! Does anyone out there in Apple Land know of a fix for this keyboard flicks flaw?
