An iPad Air 3rd Generation has a Lightning connector.

I recommend and use Amazon Basics braided cable and it works incredibly well. Super resistant and long lasting. Mine is going now on around 4 to 5 years old and still works perfectly: Amazon Basics Braided 6ft USB Lightning Cable - Amazon.com

If you have a USB-C charger instead look for a USB-C instead of USB-A Lightning cable.

Either of the cables I linked to above will work depending on the type of charger block you want to use.

All righty

I am done waiting.

Any cable made by Belkin or Anker electronics is a very good power/charging cable.

You can find these on Amazon

Also, Amazon Basics makes good quality cables that are very good, as well.

Thick cables and/or braided style cables are better cables too search/look for, also.

I believe Belkin, Anker and Amazon makes these style of cables, as well.

Best of Luck to You!

“Best” is a very subjective term.

Presuming that you refer to an iPad Air4 or recent iPad Pro, you should be looking for a USB-C to USB-C cable - preferably MFI Certified - capable of carrying at least 3A. As such, you would be wise to select cable from reputable manufacturer. Apple cables tend to be relatively expensive; some high quality third-party manufacturer’s cables tend to be more robust.

Here are the 2m cables directly marketed by Apple:

mophie USB-C Cable with USB-C Connector (2 m)

Apple USB-C Charge Cable (2m)

You might consider other alternatives, such as Anker. You should perhaps note that USB-C cables are not all the same making direct comparison difficult; supported USB services will vary by the included wiring.

The Apple cable supports basic data and USB PD charging - whereas the described Zagg cable is very high specification.

Other models of iPad use Lightning ports - and will require a cable to match. These models of iPad are supplied with USB Power Adapters that feature a standard USB Type-A cable. Apple markets these 2m cables:

  • Apple Lightning to USB Cable (2m)

  • mophie USB-A Cable with Lightning Connector (2 m)

  • Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE Lightning to USB-A Cable + Strap (3m/10 ft.)
