I bought a couple songs on iTunes on my iPhone. These songs appear in the Music app. I used the "Share Song ..." option from the three dots menu to send a text to a friend. I also used the email option.
My friend cannot play the song. I'm not there is see what's going on, but seems that "Share" just means "Share a link to Apple Music."
Am I wrong about this, or is there a way to really "share" music?

That clarifies things. Neither of those options works for me. The first is recommending, not sharing, and the second only works within a family.
Am I violating copyright if I send the music file that I downloaded from iTunes to someone? Will the file play on someone else’s phone/computer?
