I'm using an M1 Mac Mini with HomePod Mini the audio sync issue is so terrible and annoying! I have read posts and comments upon comments - from last year - and it is now June 2021, Apple is yet to issue a firmware to address issue. Perhaps it is a design/hardware issue they don't want to admit. I don't want to believe that no technical person from Apple reads from these communities.
I was sure it was going to fixed by now, but no dice. iTunes on new up to date MacBook Air M1, trying to talk to my stereo HomePod minis is full of sync/lag and error prone bugs even now. Is this why they killed the big HomePod?
Today I fired up Chrome, which has been neglected in favour of Safari since I got my M1 Mac Mini, and guess what? No annoying audio lag when playing videos on YouTube. For now a workaround for me until Apple acknowledges and bring a resolution to this issue several years later.
