I just got a replacement phone from Apple because mine was defective. The new phone does not have a SIM card. Am I supposed to remove the SIM card from the defective card and put it in the new phone? How do I do that? Do I need to do anything special before removing it?

Attempting to replace my SIM card on a XR iPhone. Instruction says to insert pin in the small hole of the SIM card tray. My XR I phone does not have a hole to insert the pin. Is there a different method for the XR.
The XR has a hole. If using a case, remove the phone from the case. There is no specific process for the iPhone XR.
Look closely at the right side of the iPhone.
