Update Apple ID

I forgot my iPhone password. I restored it, but it wants me to update my Apple ID with my old password. It says that I can do that/approve my phone with another device signed into my ID without deleting my iPhone data. How do I do that?

If you forgot the Apple ID password, enter the Apple (iCloud) ID, and click Forgot Password. See if you can get a Rescue or Notification email option if necessary. Link to contact Apple Support at the end of the 2nd article.
