Not receiving voicemail notifications on iPhone 11 Pro and T-mobile

I have the same problem as someone previously posted back in April 2020. I've spent more than 5 hours with T-mobile customer support. Several weeks ago a tech at T-Mobile said this is a known issue with the iPhone and T-mobile. Obviously it doesn't work for me running a business when I don't get message notifications until up to 6 days later. It happened a couple of years ago as well and I went through T-Mobile support, they sent me to Apple Support, who then sent me back to T-Mobile support, who then did something that fixed it. This time around T-mobile still hasn't fixed it. Thought I'd try here. With support we've reset the network, reset the voicemail, and most recently put in a new SIM card.

Voicemail is a carrier feature, so we are glad to know you have already began to work with T-Mobile.

Are you able to access your voicemail through the Visual Voicemail interface, or are you being asked to call Voicemail to check your messages?


For best functionality of Visual Voicemail you will want to ensure your iPhone is caught up on its software updates. Additional tips for setting up this service can be found at the article below.

Aside from ensuring these settings are in order and your device is up to date, we would suggest continuing to escalate within T-Mobiles support channels. Hi SnickZ.,

Thank you for getting back to me. I spent hours and hours with T-mobile support ( more than 8 hours so far) and did everything possible. They told me today it is a known issue with the iPhone and to talk with Apple. I talked with Apple and they set me up to go to the genius bar locally. Not sure they can do anything. It is apparent that the voicemail at T-mobile is not communicating with the iPhone. I will get the voicemail notification, but anywhere from 1.5 hours after the message was left to up to 6 days later. Obviously this is unacceptable.
