Hi, when I try to restore my iPhone 12 from iTunes, it says that the device doesn't have enough storage, even though it is 128gb and the backup is only 115gb. I have reset the device and it still doesn't work. Somebody please help!
The backup file is seldom the same size as the actual data being backed up. This is because the backup file does not save the actual apps, however, it saves only links to those apps. When you restore from that backup file, then the apps are downloaded from the App Store. The data tied to the apps is saved on the backup file. Photos is another example. If you use iCloud for Photos then those photos are not included in the backup file. Just their links are pointing to iCloud.
If you are restoring from a backup file created by another device on to your iPhone 12, then there is a good chance that the actual data is greater than 128GB (Backup file is 115GB according to your post).

There is the other option of setting up the iPhone manually however you may lose some data when you do this. If you use iCloud for backups etc, then that will help restore your photos and other data. If the computer backup is all you have then, as you know, you will need to restore form that backup file.
Before you do decide to setup the iPhone manually (you may already have at this point), try the restore process again by erasing the contents and settings of your iPhone.
Open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Erase all contents & Settings. This action will erase everything on your iPhone and return it to like new and back to factory settings.

Understood. Is there any data on the iPhone right now? How much free space is currently on your iPhone? The reason I am asking is that if there is not enough free space to launch and conduct the restore then you may have issues.

there is around 118gb of free space when resetted, since the system takes up around 10 gb (actually 9gb). But the backup is 115 gb, so I don't know why it's showing this message
So, basically, we backed up the iPhone 12 onto our computer, and then sent the phone off (for repairs). They resetted it, so now we're trying to restore the data from the backup, but it says the backup is too large, which is what's confusing
I think it could be a sort of prevention feature that prevents you, but is there any way I can get the backup on the phone or I have to set it up manually. This shouldn't even happen in the first place because all I did was backup the phone, it got reset, and now I just want to restore from the backup. Here is a picture of the error message:

Yeah, I tried it again and it still says the backup file is too large. Why is it too large? It was the same phone I backed up from, and it's the same phone I want to restore to.
