Adding External Monitor slows down the speed

Hi, I have a Macbook pro 16 16Gb rams, the problem is when I add an external monitor (HP business Monitor) it slows down the Macbook speed it starts lagging. Is there any fix?

We are sorry to hear that you are having performance issues when using an external monitor.


If graphics tasks slow down your Mac, try the steps here. You can also change other graphic settings from that menu as well.


If that does not resolve the issue, try resetting the NVRAM or PRAM on the Mac. Some display settings are saved in there, so resetting it can resolve the speed issue: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac


Try resetting your system management controller as well. Resetting the SMC can resolve issues with multiple components of the Mac: How to reset the SMC of your Mac
