Second monitor slowing down and timing out internet connection

I'm using the latest Mac Mini M1 with Big Sur 11.5.2. Connecting a second monitor to my Mac Mini with a lightning USB-C adapter slows down and eventually times out my internet connection. Is there anyone else having this issue and/or any way to resolve this issue?

Poorly shielded USB-C cables and devices can interfere with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Sometimes you can rearrange the setup so that the cables and devices are opposite the Mac Mini and Routers line of sight. Other times you need to get and use better shielded cables.
