Marking episodes as played or unplayed

Hi,

Not sure if you still need to do this, but I just managed to do this, bit of a tedious way but worked.

Go to the podcast you want to select all as unplayed

Press see all so you can see all the episodes

Hold down shift and then press down

Highlight as many as you want to set to unplayed

Right click

Mark as unplayed

If it shows mark as played then you have some you havent played, if so just select mark as played then right click again and it shows mark as unplayed

Unfollowing / deleting a podcast, then following again, also does not clear Played metadata. In addition to this memory leak, the app now loses things it shouldn't, like your context, like when you return to whatever you were listening to or working on, your previous location, stack, and context is lost, replaced with an ad for the next bright shiny change, kinda like being interrupted by commercials. Wonder where they got that idea...

No doubt there are excellent alternatives (and developers) on the app store.

You can no longer mark an episode as played. What’s with that??

I would also like this feature to mark all as unplayed. Alternatively returning to the old version allowing users to order podcasts by when they were last played.

Is there any update with this ? I delay updates to the IOS since I keep getting huge disappointments with the podcast app so I’ve delayed updating in case there’s some new horrors waiting. The app worked perfectly, I don’t see why they made all these changes!

It would be great to get an indication from someone at Apple about whether this feature was accidentally removed and will be reinstated or if it has been deliberately and permanently removed. It was what made this software slightly better than other podcast players.
