How do I upload items to upgraded iCloud storage that were not uploaded when an earlier limit was reached?

Some items were not up loaded to iCloud before I upgraded. How do I upload them now?

Welcome Oldi-Wan,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you've had to upgrade your iCloud Storage plan and want to know how to sync photos that wouldn't sync due to the lack of previous storage space. We'll do our best to assist.

It sounds like you've already upgraded your iCloud Storage plan. Now that you've done this, on iOS devices, we'd go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud and make sure the new storage space is updated here. Ensure iCloud Photos is enabled. On a Mac, you'll find this in System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud.

Open up the Photos app and check the bottom for a syncing status. You'll want to be connected to a known good Wi-Fi network to sync iCloud data. It may take some time to complete the syncing process, but this should be done automatically.

Should it persist, please reply back with the answers to the following for more help:

  • Do you use other Apple devices with iCloud Photos? If so, do they sync to iCloud properly?
  • What happens when you check the syncing status bar within the Photos app?
  • Does the upgraded iCloud Storage appear on your iPhone?

Hoping this helps out, take care!
