Files app/ too much space

Files app on my iPad says it’s using 12gb but on my iPhone, it says 44mb.

because of the sudden jump in space, I dont have anymore ipad storage left cause I only have the 32gb iPad. How do I fix this? Both file apps have all the same stuff in them.

Your iPad and iPhone are likely to differ in their use of local/device storage utilisation as each may have different App installed - and will almost certainly have different cached content.

If your internal storage is full, your only option is to better manage the storage that you have - and delete unused Apps or unneeded data.
