Request to update payment details

In my iPhone settings a note has appeared to update my payment details. I am suspicious this may be a hacker wanting my password. It says I should update in order to keep my 50 GB of iCloud storage. Can I trust this and proceed?

This document explains how to 'Change, add, [review,] or remove Apple ID payment methods' on an Apple mobile device, a Mac, or a PC; click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201266

If you don't trust a message (wise in this day of scams), use Apple's own direct way to check the thing it is warning you about. If there's a problem with your payment method then it should show in red when you use the review method above.
