I want to delete Whatsapp from my iPad, but keep it on my iPhone. Is this possible because I know that
any app you download on one device appears on all devices linked to your account?

one can set it up in
settings->app store->[automatic downloads]
so it downloads an app downloaded on 1 ios device so it will automaticlly be downloaded on all ios devices which use the same appleID
but the same thing does not mean a deleted app will be deleted on other ios device
also whatsapp by facebook only exist on iphone it does not on ipad
so if you have an whatsapp on your ipad it's not one made by facebook but just a third party
app which encapsulate their webclient and present it as an app
